Web
Designer
Wallingford, Oxon
Babyworld, the UK's leading independent and unique dedicated
parenting site and online nursery store with more than 525,000 unique
users and 6 million page impressions monthly is looking for a Web
Designer/Administrator to start in January.
Although we are not looking for a technician, you should have experience
of creating, editing and uploading web pages and banners. You should
have an understanding of HTML and be confident using web and image
editors such as Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and banner management
software. Familiarity with CSS and current web standards would be
a distinct advantage. You will also be working closely with our
technical consultants, Oxinet on
site design, maintenance and development.
Based in our attractive offices near Wallingford, the role will
include responsibility for
- Page creation and design
- Managing, researching, re-sizing and improving image files
- Publishing editorial and advertorial content to the babyworld
site
- Creating pages and databases for regular online competitions
and giveaways (SQL server)
- Liasing with contributors regarding article presentation
- Maintaining a consistent look and feel across the babyworld
site
- Banner creation for in house advertising and external clients
- Managing advertorial and banner advertising campaigns for clients
- Production of regular babyworld newsletters
- Being a part of the team that maintains the site structure and
optimisation of the site
- An interest in the parenting and nursery industry would be desirable
Attention to detail and a passion for getting it right is a prerequisite,
as is the ability to prioritise your workload and work within deadlines.
Flexibility with the ability to multi-task is the key to this role.
As well as daily maintenance of the site, you'll also be required
to liaise with advertising agencies in order to ensure that campaigns
run smoothly and on time.
Babyworld is a small independent company with big ideas staffed
by individuals for whom the word "can't" doesn't exist. The Web
Designer/Administrator will be major contributor to our growth and
development, working within a team environment where being at work
is fun (nearly all the time!)
This is a great opportunity for someone to take ownership of a
leading website, with plenty of scope to develop your own ideas
and influence our direction.
There's a competitive salary, performance related bonus and 5 weeks
holiday (or FTE). The role requires a blend of administrative, production
and design skills. We may find this in one full time person but
might also consider job sharing or part time employment to cover
all the angles.
To apply please email tim@babyworld.co.uk
with your CV, including an indication of current and recent earnings
and at least one paragraph telling him which aspect(s) of this role
you find appealing and why you should be considered for interview.
Applicants must live within commuting distance of Wallingford,
Oxfordshire.
Absolutely no agencies, thanks.
