Tim joined babyworld in summer 1999, just as the company was being
acquired by Freeserve.
Although he had never previously managed an internet business, his previous career -
which spanned management roles in advertising sales, magazine publishing, sponsorship and
promotions, commercial radio, cable television and telecommunications and five years as a
self-employed interim manager specialising in new media start ups and turnarounds - has
proved surprisingly apposite as virtually all of these activities are an inherent part of
internet businesses. He's also got a dog called Griffin.
Tim, aged 53, is married with two children "still young enough for
me to be able to relate to what the babyworld reader is going through".
