Angel - Moderator
Hi Everyone
I’m Mel and at the time of writing this I am 34. I live in Hastings
with my husband Rob born in 1973 and my 4 children Neil born in 1990,
Hayden born in 1992, Benjamin born in 1994 and Rhiannon born in 2000.
 I
have been with Babyworld since I fell pregnant with Jack in April 1999
when I wrote my first ever pg diary. Sadly my pregnancy with Jack was
not to continue and in August 1999 Jack Luke Angel was born sleeping at
19 weeks gestation.
It was during my darkest hours that I turned to Babyworld and the then
community manager Louise. At that time Babyworld did not have the support
forums and network that it has today and so it was a great honour when
Louise asked me to become the first ever moderator of Losing a baby forum.
During my time so far with Babyworld I have been moderator of losing a
baby forum, Feeling down forum. I am also the moderator of Babyworld Chat,
Just for fun, what’s on TV and Co-Moderator of Teenage and Young parent’s
forum. I also moderate the seasonal Christmas chaos and play Santa for
all the members’ children in chat.
 I
have also had personal challenges as well, with Rhiannon being born at
25 weeks gestation, and I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and also Anti
Phospholipid Syndrome- APS (Hughes/sticky blood syndrome). I also had
a hysterectomy in December 2002 due to ill health. I have also now been
diagnosed with Osteoporosis, but never one to sit and complain I have
turned my life around….
In September 2004 I started an access to Nursing and Midwifery course
but then events led me to a different course at university. Since September
2005 I have been studying Applied social Sciences at University Centre
for Hastings. This will then lead me on to complete my Masters in Social
work in 2008.
