Hi, my name is Laura and I am 26. I have been married to Steven, also 26, for 2 years and we have been together for 8 years.
I first joined babyworld in March 2003 when we found out that we were expecting out first baby. Sadly at our 12 week scan we were told our baby had died. It was such a huge shock as we had never even contemplated the worst happening. Thankfully I fell pregnant the following month and after an agonising 9 months of worry I gave birth to the most perfect, healthy little boy Lewis. He is now two and a half and is just amazing, both Steven and I feel so blessed. In November 2005 after 18 months of trying for another baby - we were delighted to find out that I was pregnant, only to miscarry just days later. The following month we were excited, but scared to discover that I was pregnant again and due in August. 8 months into the pregnancy at a routine appointment it was found that our baby had died suddenly and on July 19th 2006 I gave birth to Joseph Allan Emmerson. Tests later showed that Joseph had downs syndrome and although there was no exact cause of death, it was said to be related to this somehow. I began posting on the Losing a Baby forum and received such support and comfort from the other girls, that when Louise approached me and asked me to be moderator I said yes immediately.
Babyworld
has helped me through pregnancy, trying to conceive, miscarriage and now the
loss of my son. I am delighted to be moderator for the forum, but devastated
that anyone should have to go through losing a baby.
