Hi, I'm Kelly and I moderate on the General pregnancy, Homebirth, Pregnancy problems and General babytalk forums.

I live in Birmingham with my husband Mark and our five children: Rosie (born '99), Oscar (born '01) Jacob (born '03) Elijah (born '06) and Willow (born '09).

I've had a keen interest in pregnancy and birth since my first pregnancy - some might say rather too keen considering I now have five babies! My first two babies were born following complicated and unpleasant inductions in hospital (I am a serial "42 weeker"), so I opted for a different approach third time around and had a relaxed homebirth using aromatherapy. I had a waterbirth at home with my fourth baby in November 2006, and it couldn't have been a more perfect birth. I then had a lovely unassisted waterbirth at home with our fifth and final baby, Willow. We didn't plan an unassisted birth, but she was in a hurry to join us! I've also suffered problems during our quest for a complete family, including miscarriages and bleeding during pregnancy, so I understand how pregnancy can be a worrying as well as exciting time for many of us.

I chose to stay at home with my children for six years, and am currently back in the workplace taking a different career path; I'm training to be a primary school teacher, something that has always interested me.

I've been a member of the Babyworld community for a long time now and have made many friends, so I'm really enjoying giving something back to the community by moderating.
