I'm Jill, I am an ancient 38 and recently moved from the UK to Maine in the USA, with my husband Mike and three children. Hannah was born in 2001, Ellie in 2003 and Mark in 2005, and there will not be any more new children - we're stopping at three!
Hannah was an induced birth in hospital, Ellie was a homebirth followed by spectacular PPH, then Mark was an accidental hospital birth, so I sort of feel like I've experienced it all in terms of birth location.
My pregnancies and birth experiences have included pre-eclampsia, suspected HELLP Syndrome, low platelets, low iron levels, and some very strange placentas...
I have loved breastfeeding all my babies, and our Tots Bots are now on their third child, so you might class me as a bit of a hippy, but not too much. I love having three children even if it's hard work a lot of the time. It constantly amazes me how different they all - I'm still not convinced I have a parenting technique other than just trying to keep up with them all and remember which is which.
I am currently a SAHM although I still do a bit of writing and sub-editing on the side, and have even been known to design the odd website. Before having children I did a degree in Business Administration, then worked in magazine and website publishing, and have since trained as a counsellor.
One day I hope to get back to my old hobbies: snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking, and maybe even get the children to join in.
I first logged on to Babyworld when I was pregnant with Hannah early in 2001, and have since graced several antenatal clubs and forums with random questions and opinionated responses. On my home page you can read my pregnancy diaries, birth stories and baby diaries.
I'm moderator of the Sibling Issues and Large Families forum and the Stay At Home Parents forum, and co-moderator of Discuss, Debate and Deliberate and Nappy Talk.
