Hello!

I'm Sam, moderator of the Want to be Famous forum. You may recognise me from my other role at babyworld - community editor - as I am often posting on discussion forums asking for people to profile in articles!

I'm 30 years old (soon to be 31 though!) and live in Oxford with my husband Carl, a clinical scientist, our 17-month-old cheeky daughter Holly (who has a baby home page) and our two eccentric cats, Charlie and Sox, who are living definitions of the term 'scaredy cats'. I work part-time as a writer and editor, specialising in parenting, education and modern languages. I like a lot of variety lol!

I first joined babyworld as a member in December 2002, a month away from expecting my first child, Holly Megan. Having never used a discussion forum before I was amazed by how much fun it was and how I soon became addicted to our daily postings. It was fantastic – there were other people in the world who were scared of the birth, who didn’t want to be induced but were fed up with needing a forklift truck to get out the bath. Once all our babies were born, we shared the ups and downs of the first months and swapped tips on sleeping, feeding and even relaxation techniques!

Nearly a year after Holly's birth, I was thrilled to join the babyworld team as community editor. Now I had a valid excuse for spending hours each day on the site! I took on moderating the Want to be Famous board when it was created a few months ago as it ties in naturally with my other activities on the site - mainly keeping in touch with our members and asking for contributions to the features we run.
