Hi, I'm Dee and I'm the moderator for the Trying for a baby discussion Forum. I’m married to a very patient man (lol) and we have been lucky enough to have two gorgeous children, Tom and Kimmy. We all live in sunny Cambridgeshire with our three fur babies, our cats Lou, Mickey and Minny. I work part time for our local authority and have done for the last 3 years.
I joined Babyworld in December 2003 (a month after we started to ttc) and, as the time wore on and I didn’t get pregnant, I found I relied very heavily on Babyworld and the wonderful women I met there. After we had been trying for about a year I fell pregnant but sadly miscarried, I fell pregnant a second time straight away but, again, that baby was lost. We continued to try for a baby, despite the terrible heartache and frustration and, once again, I got pregnant a few months later, only for that pregnancy to fail as well. I was then referred to a Gynaecologist and we underwent various tests to see why I kept miscarrying. After lengthy tests and investigations it was deemed that there was no cause for the miscarriages but that I didn’t ovulate regularly, so I was prescribed Clomid. I fell pregnant for a fourth time before I had a chance to start the drugs and after a pregnancy filled with worry and fear our wonderful daughter Kimberley arrived on 1st May 2006. All the time we were trying to conceive I was a keen member of the Trying For A Baby Forum and, when I got pregnant, I turned to the women in my Antenatal Club for some much needed support.
The Trying for a Baby forum has a very special place in my heart, not only because I found so much kindness, support, and knowledge there but because I have been given a chance to give something back by moderating that particular forum. I see women come and go frequently and find joy in each bfp or pregnancy update. I feel compassion and sadness for those who are having a rough time and, most of all, I feel a sense of pride for “my girls” who have so much generosity of spirit.
If you have questions which can't be answered on the forums you could always try visiting the Babyworld Trying for a Baby information pages or our Ask the Experts pages. If, however, it is support, a place to discuss your frustrations regarding ttc, or just a friendly environment where you can be sure that everyone is in the same boat as you, you could try the Trying for a Baby discussion forum.
