Sue
Allen-Mills
Antenatal Adviser
Sue has been teaching antenatal classes since 1991 and is also a writer and editor, who writes, among other things, about pregnancy, birth and looking after babies and young children. She has two daughters.
"Nobody knows quite what its like to be pregnant as well as someone else whos pregnant. But many pregnant women and their partners, especially in the early months of pregnancy, dont have any form of contact with others who are pregnant, so dont have anyone to share experiences or compare notes with.
"Babyworlds antenatal clubs provide a special opportunity for women and their partners to be in touch with others who are expecting babies at the same time, so that they can go through the experience together, regardless of place or time. The clubs also offer on-line antenatal classes, taking away the restrictions of availability, time, and sometimes cost as well, that can make it difficult for people to get to classes, and making classes more widely accessible.
"Its exciting for me to be a part of all this and to have the opportunity of offering help and support to a far greater number of pregnant women and their partners than it's been possible to do before."
